ZESPÓŁ SZKÓŁ MUZYCZNYCH W POZNANIU: Jan Romanowski / kierownik artystyczny

Violinist, teacher, composer and arranger. In 2001 He graduated with honours from the I.J Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań in the violin class of M. Baranowski. He is a laureate of many violin and chamber music competitions held in Lublin, Łódź, Cracow and Elbląg. He has refined his playing skills by attending many courses, including Blonay (Switzerland) and Żagań. Romanowski played concerts in Poland and abroad, also as a member of the AGUTTI QUARTET, Trio Taklamakan (with which he has successfully played concerts in Poland and around the world since 1998, playing folk music, tangos by A. Piazzolla and his own compositions) and the ARDENTE piano and violin duo. In 1998-2001 Romanowski worked together with the string ensemble of G. Bregovic, with the THEATRE OF THE EIGHTH DAY in Poznań and with Hanna Banaszak.

In 1999 he began work as teacher of the violin in the Music School Complex in Poznań.  His students participate actively in master classes, and in national and international competitions.Jan Romanowski also organises master classes to which he has been inviting Professor Marcin Baranowski since 2009.

Towards the end of 2004 Romanowski commenced cooperation with Platforma Artystyczna O.B.O.R.A. in Poznań, creating a theatre and musical event titled “Och szczęście” [“Oh Joy”]. As artistic director of the event, he received an individual disctinction at the 15th  National Garden Theatre Festival in Warsaw (August 2006).

In 2005 Romanowski became a member of the METAMORPHOSIS film group, writing and performing music to the film “Szczęściarze” [‘The Lucky Ones”], which, among others, was screened during the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia in 2006.
