Born in Budapest, Edit Klukon studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music with Pal Kados, Jenő Jandó and György Kurtág. Very quickly, she turned her career to chamber music and accompaniment of lyric pieces – a genre to which the artist is quite attached. Klukon has accompanied many singers, including Dénes Gulyás, László Polgár, Lucia Popp and Ruth Ziesak in recitals of songs from Mozart to Hugo Wolf. Together with pianist Dezsö Ránki, she also likes to perform repertoire for piano four hands and for two pianos – from Mozart to Bartók, as well as Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Liszt, Debussy and Ravel. Performing as a duet since 1985, the two musicians have played many times in Hungary, as well as in many other countries in Europe. Edit Klukon specialises in the performance of works by Liszt, but she also frequently plays the music of Haydn.
